Wenyen Gabriel showed out tonight in the Bluegrass Showcase as his team, Wilbraham & Monson beat Thon Maker’s Athlete Institution, 83 to 73.
Both Gabriel and Maker played an aggressive game, but it was Gabriel’s team who came out on top. Gabriel’s first field goal came 11 minutes into the game with a 2-handed dunk, finishing with 22 points the game. His most important role came when he took over the second half and scored 11 straight points to bring his team back for the win.
Several one-on-one matchups between Gabriel and a potential Wildcat teammate gave he and Maker a chance to show off their aggression.
