There were few Kentucky football hype trains as big as the Drew Barker hype train.
The Kentucky native was supposed to be Mark Stoops’ saving grace under center, but Barker couldn’t impress in a small sample size (due in part to an injury that kept him out the majority of last season) and he was overtaken by Stephen Johnson. With Johnson graduating, Barker would’ve been in the quarterback competition. But now that he’s going the graduate transfer route, we’re left with what the hype was and some well-wishes upon his farewell
I certainly hope the best for Barker, who I admit I was all in on when he won the starting job last season.
