The 2020 graduating class at the University of Kentucky could not attend the traditional commencement ceremony at Rupp Arena. Instead of walking across a stage, they opened up their laptops.
Different departments held various ceremonies for their departing students. For the Kentucky football players, Mark Stoops and Eli Capilouto hosted a Zoom meeting with the graduates and all of those who helped them reach their ultimate goal. UK’s president has a soft spot in his heart for the school’s student-athletes.
“I always looked forward to when our student-athletes crossed the stage to receive their diplomas,” said Capilouto.
