Each Christmas, the Kentucky men’s basketball program gives back to area families in need. This year, they weren’t able to host families inside due to the pandemic, so they moved the celebration to the parking lot, where players handed out food and gifts and sang a few carols. It’s been a rough few weeks for the team, so seeing them bring smiles to the faces of fans and lend a helping hand is a nice chance of pace.
On his call-in show last night, Calipari said the gifts included money for rent, food from Kroger, a meal from Lundy’s, merchandise from Kentucky Branded, and a TempurPedic mattress for each family.
