Senior Night was spoiled in Rupp Arena when Vanderbilt handed Kentucky Basketball a shocking loss in the Wildcats’ home finale in Lexington, 68-66. Afterward, a dejected John Calipari fulfilled his postgame responsibilities to the media with an 11-minute press conference in the Rupp Arena media room, Calipari’s final conversation from Rupp this season.
He opened his postgame press conference by saying, “Give Vanderbilt credit. I love my team’s fight in the second half and never gave in. We were short-handed but that’s no excuse.”
He also provided updates on Cason Wallace and Sahvir Wheeler. Wallace’s X-ray went well–“no swelling,” he said–but Wheeler is out another two to three weeks.
