Walter McCarty sues University of Evansville, claiming he's owed more than $75,000

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — It’s been almost two years since the University of Evansville fired former men’s basketball coach Walter McCarty.

Now McCarty is suing the university, alleging he's owed more than $75,000.

The lawsuit was filed by attorney Jonathan Little on Dec. 20 and claims UE did not fulfill its contractual obligations to McCarty. He signed a five-year deal in March 2018 to be paid a base salary of $240,000 that would increase by $10,000 annually. It included incentives that were performance-based, as well as a percentage of fundraising and ticket revenues. He alleges he was not paid the latter bonuses.
