Vanderbilt Basketball is in a Sad State of Affairs

The Vanderbilt men’s basketball team came into Saturday’s matchup against Tennessee with an 8-8 record and very little optimism surrounding the remainder of the SEC schedule. They had already lost to teams such as Loyola-Chicago, Tulsa, Liberty, and Richmond earlier in the season and were 0-3 in conference play.

The Volunteers held a massive 66-45 lead with time running down on the Commodores, but this story isn’t that of a memorable comeback, rather one of sadness and misery.

Vandy was riding a streak of 1,080 consecutive games with at least one made three-pointer, the second-longest streak in Division I behind UNLV.
