USA Basketball U19 team trims roster to 17, Devin Askew among first cuts

Former Kentucky guard Devin Askew was one of the first nine players cut from USA Basketball’s U19 team.

The U19 roster is now down to 17 players and will eventually be trimmed to 12.

First round of cuts were made at USA Basketball’s FIBA U19 World Cup training camp. Devin Askew, Derek Fountain, Dishon Jackson, Meechie Johnson, Zed Key, Langston Love, Hunter Sallis, Dalen Terry, Jaylin Williams are out. 17 players remain for 12 spots to head to Latvia. https://t.co/xx8F9YPLaR

Seventeen finalists for the 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team were announced Monday night, following four practice sessions over two days at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas that involved 26 players.
