After starting the season 26-0, San Diego State is no longer undefeated. The No. 4 Aztecs fell victim to a 66-63 upset at the hands of the unranked UNVL Runnin’ Rebels. Before the game, UNVL had a 14-14 record and were the No. 6 team in the Mountain West Conference.
The game was ugly from the start for SDSU, and the Aztecs were trailing by double-digits with four minutes left in the game. They went on an impressive run to cut the lead back to a reasonable margin in the second half, but it was too little, too late.
