University of Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari shared a tribute Friday afternoon via Twitter to legendary Temple University basketball coach John Chaney, who died at the age of 89.
Calipari and Chaney once had a fight at a post-game press conference - in 1994, when Calipari was the head coach at the University of Massachusetts. Calipari joked about it in one of his tweets:
"Coach Chaney and I fought every game we competed – as everyone knows, sometimes literally – but in the end he was my friend," Calipari tweeted.
The coaches put their differences aside and became good friends, joking about the altercation from time to time.
