UK notifies season ticket holders that basketball fan capacity will be reduced

Kroger Field won’t be the only Kentucky Wildcats athletics facility that will have limited fan attendance amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Monday, Kentucky State Senator Damon Thayer tweeted that he received a letter from UK President Eli Capilouto that states there will only be 15% capacity at Kentucky Men’s Basketball games at Rupp Arena this season.

Apparently @KentuckyMBB is only allowing 15% capacity @Rupp_Arena this season according to letter from @UKYpres

Pretty sad & unnecessary. It can work with more fans but everyone is running scared from the fearmongering from Gov Andy Beshear and Fayette Health Dept #BBN— damon thayer (@damon_thayer) October 26, 2020

Tuesday, an email sent to UK season ticket holders obtained by KSR seemed to confirm what the senator had tweeted.
