Congratulations to Tyrese Maxey, who has been named SEC Freshman of the Week following his huge performance vs. Michigan State. Arkansas’ Mason Jones took home SEC Player of the Week honors following his career-high 32 points vs. Rice.
Maxey came off the bench to score 26 points vs. the then-No. 1 Spartans, the most by a freshman in a debut in program history and the most points of any UK player against an Associated Press No. 1 ranked team since Jamal Mashburn scored 28 in an overtime loss to Duke in 1992.
