Tyler Ulis waived by Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are waiving former Kentucky Wildcats guard Tyler Ulis, according to Woj.

This doesn’t come a much of a surprise as Phoenix continues to free up cap space in hopes of making a big splash in NBA free agency.

Ulis finished last season fifth in total minutes played for the Suns, but still had a very difficult sophomore season for a team that ended up scoring the No. 1 overall pick. He was third in assists per game for the league’s worst assisting team and only 11th in points per game while making only 36% of his shots,

Even so, Ulis has shown promise throughout his first two NBA seasons, enough to think he’ll become a quality backup at worst, but the Suns were ready to give other guards a chance going into next season.
