Kentucky enters 2021 with a revamped offense and the need to replace six defensive playmakers. Two statistical categories stand out as to what the Cats need to improve upon in order to compete for the SEC East title. Both categories deal with the passing game. Let’s take a deeper dive:

QB Sacks

The Wildcats accumulated just 15 quarterback sacks in the 2020 season. Although it played fewer games due to COVID-19, UK’s number of sacks per game significantly dropped from the past two seasons. Kentucky averaged 2.92 sacks per contest in 2018. All-American Josh Allen’s 17 prominently raised the team’s percentage.
