LEXINGTON - Former Kentucky basketball coach Tubby Smith will return to Rupp Arena this season.
Smith's High Point squad will travel to Lexington for a New Year's Eve game against his former squad, UK announced Monday in revealing its full nonconference schedule.
"We are working on some ways to honor Tubby and his time here, and I can’t wait to fill in the BBN in the near future," UK coach John Calipari tweeted.
Smith, the coach of Kentucky's 1998 national championship team, has not coached in Rupp Arena since leaving the program after the 2006-07 season.
