Top high school basketball programs forming national league

A super league is coming to high school basketball.

This morning, ESPN is reporting that six top high school basketball programs are forming the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference (NIBC), an elite national league that will tip off in the 2021-22 season: Oak Hill, Montverde, IMG Academy (Florida), La Lumiere School (Indiana), Sunrise Christian Academy (Kansas) and Wasatch Academy (Utah). Two additional schools that have yet to be announced will also participate in the eight-team league, which will play a ten-game regular season, hold special NIBC events, and a postseason tournament.

Rashid Ghazi, partner at Paragon Marketing Group, will serve as commissioner of the league, which he hopes will serve as an alternative to the new professional options for high schoolers, such as Overtime Elite.
