The Commonwealth of Kentucky stole the Saturday night spotlight. As the University of Kentucky Wildcats erased a 15-point halftime deficit in West Virginia, Chris Stapleton announced a Saturday Night Live surprise: “Tonight we got some extra Kentucky in NYC.”
Sturgill Simpson accompanied Stapleton to create two fantastic live performances. In the midst of a bro country climate, two Grammy-winning rebels from Kentucky shredded the primetime SNL stage.
Hopefully the SNL-performance was just a tease of more to come. The two Kentuckians are a wonderful combination this world needs.
