The Kentucky Wildcats victory against Vanderbilt on Saturday night gave the Cats six wins on the season. That means UK is bowl eligible for the third straight season under head coach Mark Stoops.
With UK win over Vandy, this is the earliest during the Mark Stoops era that Kentucky has become bowl eligible. After a 5-1 start in 2014 UK failed to win another game and finished 5-7. Kentucky’s 2015 season offered more of the same, as 4-1 start gave way to a 1-6 finish.
Stoops will be only the third coach in Kentucky football history to lead the Wildcats to at least three consecutive bowl games.
