The sky isn't falling in Lexington: UK still deserves envy, not empathy

LEXINGTON, Ky. – John Calipari’s problems are first-world problems. Players’ first-world problems, if you will.

The University of Kentucky basketball coach continues to attract outstanding players, but the level of his talent has lately leveled off from stupendous to merely superb. He’s recruiting fewer of the immediately dominant than he once did and more dudes in need of some development.

And, no, the sky is not falling.

Calipari's Wildcats spotted Utah a 10-2 lead Saturday afternoon at Rupp Arena, reprising roles they had played a week previous in New York, but they regrouped, rallied and eventually roared to an 88-61 victory that reaffirmed the potential of another inexperienced team.
