There comes a time during camp that a player must have the “Talk” with either the head coach or coordinator. These conversations consist of depth chart decisions. In my former life, I went through three of these discussions. None were comfortable. None were fun. When naming a starting quarterback, a head coach is in essence proclaiming the face of the franchise.
On Monday, Mark Stoops announced that Patrick Towles will be his starting quarterback. Second in the line of succession will be Drew Barker. This was expected. However, I don’t think the choice was clear cut.
