The Kentucky Wildcats are on the road to Gainesville.
Typically, road trip details are unimportant, but this isn’t a typical year. On Wednesday Mark Stoops warned of a potential COVID-19 cancellation, reporting that 18 players and 10 staff members would miss Saturday’s game vs. Florida due to injury or contact tracing.
“We can’t afford any more,” Stoops said. “We get tested again tomorrow morning and let’s hope — we can’t afford any more.”
Even though the Wildcats’ travel roster might be lighter than the usual 70, the latest COVID-19 tests did not produce enough positive results to put UK below the 53-man roster SEC threshold that calls for a game’s cancellation.
