The Governor’s Cup is staying in Lexington for another year

With today’s news that the SEC will play a conference-only schedule this football season, the Governor’s Cup trophy secured its place in UK’s trophy case for another calendar year. By the time we see Kentucky and Louisville play football again, it will have been 1,463 days since Louisville beat Kentucky, and it will probably be even longer because Kentucky is better. What a shame.

But is this the way we want to keep the streak in 2020? The answer is no, of course not. We’d much rather see the Cats dominate their rival for Thanksgiving this year, like last year, and the year before.
