“The most impossible odds allow for the most amazing miracles,” Belfry head coach Phillip Haywood said after defeating Paducah Tilghman 33-28 to win his eighth state title. “If I’ve ever been around a team that provided an amazing miracle for a season, it was this team.”
After an 0-5 start to the season—the Belfry Pirates were crowned 3A State Champions Saturday afternoon. Running back Isaac Dixon took 41 rushes for 376 yards and five touchdowns on the afternoon to claim MVP honors.
