Former Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson has been named the starter at New Mexico.

According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Wilson won the job over redshirt junior Trae Hall and redshirt freshman Isaiah Chavez.

“New Mexico coaches are naming Kentucky transfer Terry Wilson the school’s starting quarterback,” Thamel reported Tuesday. “He won over the coaching staff with his leadership and experience. Wilson went 17-8 as Kentucky’s starter.”

Wilson left the Kentucky program back in January and announced his transfer to New Mexico in March.
