Sun Belt Player of the Year DeVante’ Jones will transfer

Oh look, another guard in the transfer portal.

Coastal Carolina’s DeVante’ Jones joined a crowded list of available guards when he announced his intentions to leave the Chanticleers. The Sun Belt Conference’s Player of the Year this past season, Jones averaged 19.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.8 steals, and shot a nice 36.8% from outside in his junior year.

Jones also announced he will enter the NBA Draft, a new trend of entering both the draft and the portal to leave all options open. With his numbers and three years of experience (Jones was the Sun Belt’s Freshman of the Year in 2018-19), the 6-foot-1 guard from New Orleans becomes one of the hottest names on the board for teams seeking backcourt help.
