Stoops named AP SEC Coach of the Year, Josh Allen SEC Defensive Player of the Year

After leading Kentucky to its best record since 1977, Mark Stoops has been named SEC Coach of the Year by the Associated Press. Fittingly, the honor comes one day after the six-year anniversary of his introduction as Kentucky’s head coach.

In what should come as no surprise, senior linebacker Josh Allen was named Defensive Player of the Year and was an unanimous First Team All-SEC selection. Offensive guard Bunchy Stallings and running back Benny Snell also made the First Team. Senior safety Mike Edwards made the Second Team.
