Seth Davis has named his top 10 most intriguing coaches of the 2025-26 college basketball season.
St. John’s head coach Rick Pitino is at the top of the list.
Pitino will enter the season with a top 5 team and Davis says that gives him the chance to accomplish “a crowning moment of an incredible career.”

Pitino’s career has been by various turns triumphant and tragic, Shakespearean and operatic. He has won national championships at two different schools (the NCAA vacated his 2013 title at Louisville from the record books, but I was there so I’m pretty sure it happened) and taken a third, Providence, to the Final Four.
