A season that did not go according to plan ended on a high note. The Wildcats got a feel-good win by thumping short-handed South Carolina 41-18, the perfect senior send-off for a group of players that helped Kentucky reach the postseason in five straight seasons for the first time in school history.
South Carolina almost took an early 7-0 lead, scoring a touchdown that was erased by a penalty. Once the Gamecocks missed a field goal a few plays later, Kentucky took complete control of the game. The Wildcats led 27-3 at halftime and extended that lead to 31-3 before letting off the accelerator.
