Second half spark leads Frederick Douglass over Scott County

No Kai Simpson? No problem for the Frederick Douglass Broncos (8-10) in Friday night’s 68-53 victory over the Scott County Cardinals (5-9).

First Quarter: Frederick Douglass 15, Scott County 12

Not one, not two, but three three-pointers in a row for Frederick Douglass’ Armelo Boone allowed the Broncos to take full control of the opening quarter. They lead the Cardinals 15-6 after four minutes of play.

Scott County scored the final six points of the first quarter. Their run was capped by JZ Middleton’s last second deep three-pointer to cut the lead to just three heading into the second.
