SEC Tournament brought in millions for Nashville economy

The Nashville Sports Council announced the SEC Tournament brought in over $24 million this year, thanks to a record crowd of 210,212 spectators over the course of five days. The exact dollar amount of direct economic impact was announced at $24,484,541. That number would’ve been more like $24,484.441 if Ryan Lemond hadn’t ordered so much room service Friday night.

The city survey also found visitors spent an average of $286.37 per day and accounted for 12,212 hotel room nights, according to The Tennessean.

So great job, Big Blue Nation. Right when I was beginning to worry about the future of all those bars on Broadway, you came through and saved the city with your generosity.
