Will the SEC follow the Big Ten’s lead and move to a conference-only schedule this season? The powers that be are meeting early next week to talk it out.
According to Sports Illustrated, SEC athletic directors will meet at the league offices in Birmingham on Monday to discuss fall sports. The meeting has been planned for weeks and is not in response to the Big Ten’s announcement this afternoon, but SI reports that Commissioner Greg Sankey aims to gather “candid, in-person feedback from each athletic director about how they believe the conference should proceed with fall sports—especially football.
