Sean Miller releases statement on firing: “I wish Arizona the very best as they move forward with their new coach.”

The University of Arizona has officially fired head coach Sean Miller after 12 years at the school, a decision that comes after the veteran coach and the school were charged with nine total NCAA violations and five Level I violations back in October.

Following the school’s official announcement on Wednesday confirming the firing, Miller released a statement of his own Thursday afternoon.

It was an honor to be the head basketball coach at the University of Arizona,” Miller said. “Over the last twelve years, Tucson, Arizona became our home. It’s where our three sons grew up and attended the University of Arizona.
