The Vanderbilt Commodores enter this evening’s game with a 9-5 record, 1-1 in the Southeastern Conference. After escaping Fayetteville with a one-point win over the Razorbacks on Tuesday, the ‘Dores fell at home to South Carolina over the weekend. Coach Jerry Stackhouse has improved talent in his third season at the helm, but Vanderbilt still is a bottom five team in the league.
So far this season the Commodores have been much better on the defensive end than the first two years of Coach Stackhouse’s tenure. That has helped already match last season’s win total. However, they haven’t shot the ball as well as expected which led to some ugly performances against VCU, Temple, and Loyola Chicago.
