Over the weekend, former UK quarterback Reese Phillips made , suggesting things may not have been all rainbows and butterflies with Mark Stoops. Those comments got passed around Big Blue Nation, and now Phillips is backtracking on what he said in that interview.
Phillips used the Twitter machine to clarify the comments this morning:
I actually told Coach Stoops on the phone that I respect everything he’s done and everything he’s going to do…
I never said I didn’t get beat out at UK hahah I actually admitted I did… Buts it’s whatever
It’s unfortunate that my words are being looked at in a way that I definitely didn’t intend.
