Kevin Knox was the first Kentucky Wildcat to be selected in the NBA Draft – No. 9 by the New York Knicks – and UK teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was drafted two picks later, No. 11 by the Charlotte Hornets.
Gilgeous-Alexander, it was announced moments later as he was interviewed wearing a Hornets hat, was then acquired by the Los Angeles Clippers.
