Pulaski County linebacker chooses Purdue, Jeff Brohm over Kentucky

In the battle for Kentucky commitments, the UK football team just lost out on one of the state’s top linebackers. Tristan Cox, a native of Somerset, Kentucky, has committed to Purdue University, he announced on Twitter Wednesday night. He chose Purdue while also holding offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and West Virginia. Cox will be playing under former Louisville Cardinal and current Purdue head coach, Jeff Brohm.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound linebacker is listed as the No. 41 linebacker in the nation and the No. 11 player in Kentucky, according to 24/7 Sports. He was considered a 3-star recruit.
