Today P.J. Washington filled it up from behind the three-point line, again. The sophomore forward knocked down 5-of-8 threes to score 24 points against Auburn. After almost exclusively scoring inside as a freshman, now Washington is the Cats’ most consistent outside shooter.
A 43.9 percent three-pointer shooter, Washington has earned a few nicknames from fans in the middle of an historic shooting run. “3J” is the most common, but it’s not what his teammates call him.
“The guys call me Pistol. I don’t know why. They just call me Pistol,” Washington revealed after tonight’s win.
