Kentucky will be without one of its defensive veterans to start the season. Mark Stoops just told reporters that senior defensive lineman Phil Hoskins will miss the first two games of the year due to an academic issue. Sophomore Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald is listed in his place on the depth chart behind Calvin Taylor at defensive tackle.
What about Xavier Peters? Stoops said Kentucky is still waiting to hear from the NCAA about the outside linebacker’s eligibility. The former four-star recruit out of West Chester, Ohio transferred to Kentucky from Florida State to be closer to his one-year-old son.
