Oklahoma's K.T. Turner hired as Kentucky's third assistant

John Calipari has his guy, hiring Oklahoma associate head coach K.T. Turner as Kentucky’s third and final assistant.

Kyle Tucker of The Athletic was the first to break the news.

Turner previously served as the associate head coach at Texas and SMU, bringing 16 years of collegiate coaching experience to Calipari’s staff in Lexington.

The newest Kentucky assistant spent the 2020-21 season in Texas, helping lead the Longhorns to a 19-8 record and the Big 12 Championship. He previously spent seven years on staff at SMU, including four as the associate head coach.
