The Kentucky coronation was completed nine years ago to the day.
Led by NCAA Player of the Year, First-Team All-American and Final Four Most Outstanding Player Anthony Davis, the Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Kansas Jayhawks in the National Championship game to win the program’s eighth title and the first of John Calipari’s Hall of Fame career.
Doron Lamb led the team in total points with 22 on 7-12 shooting and 3-6 from three, followed by Marquis Teague with 14 points (5-14 FG, 2-3 3PT), Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with 11 points (4-7 FG), and Terrence Jones with nine points (4-7 FG) to go with seven rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
