New professional basketball route, Overtime Elite, establishes Atlanta as new home

Along with the G League and overseas options, the path to professional hoops is a lot more accessible than it was even 10 years ago. Overtime Elite, a new pro route created by the highlight reel company, Overtime, is the latest to offer a paid opportunity, but in a slightly different fashion.

On Wednesday morning, Overtime Elite announced that it will be setting up its home base in the city of Atlanta, GA, where all of the league’s players will live, train, practice, compete, and study. What separates Overtime Elite from the likes of the G League is that Overtime Elite is focusing on attracting 16-, 17-, and 18-year olds that are still in high school, acting more like a prep school that allows student-athletes to make money off of their play.
