New offense gives Kentucky quarterbacks a different perspective under center

First-year offensive coordinator Liam Coen is changing the way Kentucky’s quarterbacks think about offensive football.

“There’s definitely a little bit of change, but it’s a good change for me to learn more stuff about football, more styles of offenses,” said second-year quarterback Beau Allen. “The struggle and the grind has been fun so far.”

Allen is one of four quarterbacks taking snaps this spring. They’ll be joined by Penn State transfer Will Levis this summer. Charged with resurrecting a Kentucky pass offense that ranked at the bottom of the Power Five over the previous two seasons, Coen is changing the Wildcats’ attack from the ground up.
