NCAA’s practice plan calls for on-time start to season

The NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee is working on a plan for the return of college football, and according to a new report, that plan allows the season to begin on time.

Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger shared the details of the six-week practice plan, which is currently being circulated to conference offices and athletic departments for feedback. The committee is expected to approve it on Thursday to send to the D-I Council for a vote on June 17. Barring any tweaks, the plan calls for summer workouts and film study with coaches to begin July 13 for teams whose seasons are set to start on September 5 (teams with season openers in Week 0 can begin one week before).
