NCAA plan for football to return this fall one step closer to reality

On Monday, word got out about the NCAA’s six-week preseason practice plan that would lay the groundwork for college football starting on time. Today, that plan got one step closer to becoming a reality. Yahoo Sports is reporting that the NCAA Football Oversight Committee has formally recommended the plan, which is expected to be approved by the D-I Council on June 17.

Now, the details. According to the plan, strength workouts and film study with coaches can begin July 13 for teams whose seasons are set to start on September 5 (teams with season openers in Week 0 can begin one week before).
