As if the Washington Wizards weren’t already underdogs in their first-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors.

The NBA has suspended veteran reserve guard Jodie Meeks 25 games for violating the league’s anti-drug policy, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the league hadn't announced the suspension.

Meeks tested positive for banned compounds Ipamorelin and Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2 and will not return until next season.
