NBA draft rule change could deal blow to Oliver Sarr's waiver case for Kentucky basketball

LEXINGTON - Add another wrinkle to Wake Forest transfer Oliver Sarr's quest to play for Kentucky basketball next season.

According to a memo obtained by ESPN, the NBA is set to allow potential early entrants into its draft until Aug. 17 to declare for the draft, which was postponed from May to Oct. 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic. College underclassmen and international players previously had until April 26 to enter the draft.

Sarr, who averaged 13.7 points and nine rebounds per game as a junior at Wake Forest, announced he was transferring to Kentucky in May and would seek a waiver to play immediately next season.
