Missouri Will Have to Pay Sizeable Forfeiture Fee if Football Team Doesn’t Play Saturday

The Missouri Football team, along with head coach Gary Pinkel, are saying they will not practice or play until University President Tim Wolfe resigns due to his lack of leadership in relation to racist acts that have been peformed on campus recently.

If the team does not play, they will have to play a 1 million dollar forfeiture fee to BYU.

Per Tod Palmer of the Kansas City Star, Missouri would have to pay BYU $1 million for cancelling the contest. The Columbia Missourian assistant sports editor Mark Selig adds in a tweet that Missouri president Tim Wolfe, whom protestors have demanded to resign, makes $459,000 per year.
