The Kentucky softball team is slated to begin its season on Friday, Feb. 9, playing five matches over three days in the San Diego Tournament.
Last year, the team finished with a winning record but struggled in conference play, going 10-14 in SEC games.
Although the Wildcats were selected for the Evanston regional in the NCAA Tournament, they were eliminated after consecutive losses to Northwestern and Miami (OH).
This year’s team is without a handful of graduating seniors and other players who entered the transfer portal, but most of Kentucky’s core lineup is back with the team.
