Meeks, former UK standout, suspended for violating NBA's drug policy, per report

The NBA suspended Washington Wizards guard and former Kentucky Wildcats standout Jodie Meeks 25 games for violating the league’s anti-drug policy, USA TODAY Sports' Sam Amick reported, citing a person with knowledge of the situation.

The 30-year-old Meeks tested positive for banned compounds Ipamorelin and Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2, according to the report. The Wizards are facing the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Meeks averaged 6.3 points in 14.5 minutes per game in 77 games this season. He has played for the Milwaukee Bucks (2009-10), the Philadelphia 76ers (2010-12), the Los Angeles Lakers (2012-14), the Detroit Pistons (2014-16) and the Orlando Magic (2016-17).
