Texas A&M’s defense made it very difficult on Kentucky’s big men to get good touches in the halfcourt offense. Buzz Williams had his guys swarming the ball, double teaming and even triple teaming in some cases.
A&M’s approach was the roughest on Nick Richards in the scoring column. Richards managed only four points on one field goal attempt and one trip to the line in the entire game (hey, he didn’t miss a shot!), but he and his teammates countered the defense with some of the best ball movement we’ve seen all year.
For Richards, you won’t find many contributions in the box score, but Tyrese Maxey was quick to shout him out after the game.
